Congratulations to the VHS Scholars' Bowl team for their 1st place win in Division 5A at the Southern Union Scholars' Bowl competition on October 27, 2009. VHS defeated 1st place Division 6A winner, Central High (Phenix City), and three VHS students - Calvin Wagner (110 individual points), Zak Hilderbrand (110 individual points), and Alesha Peart (160 individual points) were among the top ten overall individual scorers.  VHS finished 2nd overall.
